Chinese philosophy Feng Shui is concerned with enhancing personal well-being by adjusting environmental factors. Our mission is to help you increase health and wealth by balancing the energy in your house. The kitchen is considered as one of the most important and significant rooms in the house in terms of feng shui as the kitchen is the only place where the energy of the house starts from this area.
The
Importance of the Kitchen
Let's stop for a second
and consider how often you use the kitchen and what you do there. You prepare
meals for yourself and your family in the kitchen. It stands for the way you
nourish yourself, which in turn influences your health and vigour. The kitchen
is also where you keep food, which can have an impact on your diet and overall
health. It's also worth noting that the kitchen is often the hub of social
activity in a home, serving as a place for people to congregate for a variety
of purposes, including eating, catching up with one another, and even doing
some light work.
According to feng shui,
if you can provide yourself and your loved ones with healthy, sustaining meals,
then you will be able to achieve great success and fortune in life. These
things are extremely difficult to attain without the general feeling of
well-being that comes with adequate nutrition.
It's a common question to wonder what hues work best in a kitchen from a feng shui perspective. One of the simplest ways to use feng shui colour theory is to consider the five elements, however there are many other methods to do so.
Balancing the Five Elements
Feng shui is based on the
concept of the five elements, often known as the five phases. Earth, fire,
water, wood, and metal make up the five elements. The elements, which each
represent a distinct form of energy, complement and sustain one another in a
dynamic symbiosis. Also, there are associations between certain hues and each
component.
Considering that fire and
water are already present in the kitchen is one method to include the five
elements and color there. Fire, found in the stove, is the most important
component of any kitchen as the energy from the cooked food comes from this
area. To heat the cooking surface, whether it is an electric or gas stove, you
still need a fire. The addition of a sink brings in the element of water.
You may want to stay away
from adding more fire and water element colors to the kitchen because those
components are already there. We're shooting for a state of equilibrium in
which none of the five elements dominates the others. Black is associated with
water because it represents depth and mystery. It's fine to use black as an
accent color, but remember that too much water can put out the fire required in
the kitchen. Since red is associated with fiery things, you may wish to limit
its use there as well. The use of excessive heat in the kitchen might waste
valuable supplies.
Bringing in the remaining
elements (metal, earth, and wood) is preferred to adding additional fire and
water in order to achieve harmony. Don't freak out if you discover that your
kitchen is decorated with colors associated with the fire and water elements.
This is OK, but you may want to consider finding ways to balance the extra fire
and water. Again, you may do this by adding the other three aspects to create a
more harmonious setting.
See below for some simple ways to bring metal, earth, and wood to your kitchen through color.
Metal
Element Colors
White, associated to the
metal element, is often believed to be a fantastic hue for a kitchen because it
gives a clean backdrop that shows a rainbow of meals. White plates, cabinets,
and worktops may all be wonderful complements to a kitchen. White is practical
since it's easy to keep your kitchen objects clean, and it also has positive connotations
associated with cleanliness and purity, both of which are important in the
kitchen.
Stainless steel, silver tones, and brass are excellent ways to introduce metal and create harmony to a cooking space. Adding metal cabinet pulls is an easy way to introduce metallic tones into your cooking space.
Earth Element
Colors
Colors like yellow and brown, which are found naturally outdoors, can also be helpful in the kitchen. This may resemble a dining room table or flooring made of brown wood. It's been suggested that the color yellow stimulates hunger, which may or may not be what you're going for.
Wood Element
Colors
Wood is associated with cool colors like blues, greens, and teals. Teal napkins, a vibrant blue or green backsplash, or a herb garden with real green plants are all great ways to bring in the wood aspect. Blue is the least appetizing hue in feng shui, therefore whether or not to use it as an accent color depends on your intentions.
